Fruit Brulee |

INGREDIENTS: |

plums, pitted and sliced |

cooking apples, peeled and sliced |

1 tsp |
ground ginger |
|
2 1/2 cups |
strained plain yogurt |
|
2 tbsp |
confectioner's sugar, sifted |
|
1 tsp |
almond essence |
|
scant 1/2 cup |
raw brown sugar |

DIRECTIONS: |
- Put the plums and apples into a pan with 2 tbsp of water and cook for 7-10 minutes, or until tender but not mushy. Let cool for 10 minutes, then stir in the ground ginger.
- Using a perforated spoon, spoon the mixture into the bottom of a shallow, ovenproof serving dish.
- Combine the yogurt, confectioner's sugar, and almond essence and spoon over the fruit to cover.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar over the top of the yogurt and cook under a preheated hot broiler for 3-4 minutes, or until the sugar has melted and formed a crust.
- Let chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving.
